Contrasting with the black-and-white almost everywhere else is this dignified stone job by Thomas Harrison, built in 1807-08 as the Commercial Newsroom. The ground floor arcade was opened up only in the 1960s. Grade II listed. Now a branch of Skipton Building Society.
