When these fine houses were built in Victoria's reign, they were right at the top end of the market, and, incredibly, some of them have remained in single-family ownership and avoided being divided into flats. This is a conservation area of the Borough of Hackney, enhanced by the fine plane trees in the Crescent gardens.
