The Still Point

Image: © David Dixon Taken: 28 Oct 2020

Installed 2009 this sculpture was carved from Cumbrian sandstone by Colin Spofforth and stands within the courtyard of the Piccadilly Place. The four figures represent human forms whilst remaining stone-like. The figures stand within a polished granite circle around the base of which is carved the following quotation: "At the still point of the turning world. Neither the flesh not fleshness. Neither from nor toward; at the still point, there the dance is, but neither arrest nor movement. Where the past and future gathered. T.S.Eliot." http://www.colinspofforth.com/projects/index.php?s=the-still-point Colin Spofforth Studio
