The name of Freeland Drive probably recalls the now-gone Freeland Farm: see Image Beside this end of the track is a small brick-and-concrete ruin that is annotated on the 1939 OS map revision as a "shelter": Image It is one of three on the northern side of Greenock Road. The one just mentioned stands opposite the eastern end of the Image building; another one, not marked on the 1939 map, is opposite the building's western end: Image; and a third, shown on the 1939 map, is opposite the junction of Greenock Road and India Drive.
