This is the local hub for bus services in the area, and this view shows how it appeared some 30 years ago. Buses actually terminated on the steeply graded roads around the triangle of gardens; today these have been replaced by level bus stands. The surroundings generally have changed little. In 1975 local bus services were still being run by the local authority - Rhymney Valley District Council. This bus is one they inherited from Gelligaer UDC on the formation of the District. The bus still carries the old Gelligaer colours. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=2114547&displayclass=slide
