Opened in 1867 as "Gainsborough" by the Great Northern Railway, this later became part of the joint GNR/GER line from Doncaster to Lincoln. It became "Gainsborough Lea Road" at the end of 1923. View north west towards Doncaster, on the sharp curve round to the Trent Bridge. The platform on the left was completed at the end of 2019, replacing one further from the camera position which had become dilapidated (see Image).
