Cast iron post by the A512, in parish of Shepshed (Charnwood District), Ashby Road West, SW of Blackbrook Hill House, on the verge, opp. lane that was old road, on North side of road. Wootton iron casting erected by the Loughborough & Ashby de la Zouch etc Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads: // LOUGHBORO / 5 / MILES // BURTON / ON TRENT / 16 / MILES // SHEPSHED / PARISH // WOOTTON BROS / IRON WORKS / COALVILLE //. Not listed by Historic England.
