On the wall seen in Image and Image is this broad arrow. It is an Ordnance Survey benchmark, levelled in 1969 at 12.628m, and half a metre above the then ground level (the pavement and road surface have been altered when the road was pushed through a couple of years later, and again when the surface was raised because of the large lorries visiting Sainsbury's.)
