South Littleton Manor is an impressive house. In 1681 the house was leased by the 4th Earl of Coventry to his land agent Francis Taylor. Between 1685 and 1721 Taylor carried out major building work on the house. The house which is located opposite the church is Grade II* listed, see: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1081265 In this view of the roof, dormer windows, chimneys and cupola, the weathervane is inscribed with 'FT 1721' suggesting it was that year when building work was completed.
