Barrow-in-Furness - dry dock gate mechanism

This dry dock is next to the former entrance to the Devonshire Dock from the Walney Channel. The gate slides to open and moves into this slot when pulled by the chains operated by a hydraulic motor. The far end of the dock is sealed by a caisson and drained down as part of The Dock Museum.
