Overgrown Ruin of Backside by Woodmuir Burn

Image: © Ian Dodds Taken: 11 Aug 2020

Ruin of an old farm called Backside with a tree growing out of it fairly close to the village of Breich and the now demolished village of Woodmuir. Old maps indicate that the farm stopped being operational at some stage between 1916 and 1957. Though not marked on today's maps the shape still matches that shown on older ones and most of the bases of the walls (about 2ft high) are still intact.
