Positioned as accurately as possible, the well kept station in 1956 had been opened in 1870 by the Callander and Oban Railway but succumbed in the Beeching era on 27 September 1965 following a landslide in Glen Ogle. That only brought the day forward a few weeks as closure of the line between Dunblane and Crianlarich had been planned for the 1st November!
