This triangulation pillar is at the edge of a field near the junction of Kop Hill and Peters Lane. It is at a height of 811 feet (247 metres) above sea level. The wording on the metal plaque says the following: Ordnance Survey This monument forms part of the Ordnance Survey National GPS Network. It is an offence to damage it. GPS stands for Global Positioning System I believe. It is a way of using satellite data to show where something is on a map, give users directions, etc.
