Duns was the county town of the historic county of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders. During the Second World War many Polish soldiers of the first and second Armoured Regiments were stationed here at Duns 1941-1944. In Duns Park there is a memorial dedicated to the 127 Polish soldiers who were stationed here and were killed in battle 1944-1945.
