On the wall here https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6550427 are two large tablets recording the origins of the house. One tablet is in Welsh, the other in English. The English text is FRANCES BRAY DAUGHTER OF SIR EDWARD MORGAN OF LANTARNAM IN THIS COUNTY BARONET AND RELICT OF EDMUND BRAY OF BARRINGTON IN THE COUNTYS OF GLOUCESTER AND BERK'S ESQR ERECTED THIS MARKET HOUSE IN THE YEAR 1730. Eighteenth century usages (or possibly the idiosyncratic style of the engraver) are LANTARNAM for LLANTARNAM, COUNTYS for COUNTIES, BERK'S for BERKS.
