The Post Office, Kingston on Soar. Grade II listed. Listing number 1260202. House, now cottage and post office. Mid C17 and mid C18 with later C19 alterations. Red brick, some timber frame. Mid C18 red brick front with plain tile roof. 2 C19 red brick gable stacks. Single storey plus attic, 4 bays. Single fixed light, to the right is a doorway with part glazed door and C19 plain tile hood supported on wooden brackets, further right is a small glazing bar fixed light, a doorway with plank door and similar C19 hood and on the far right a single glazing bar casement. Above are 2 C19 gabled dormers each with single glazing bar casement. To the rear of No.2 is a mid C17 originally timber framed range. Visible remains of timber frame include 2 rails, 2 braces, posts and some studs. Rear gable wall with remains of a post, tie beam and collar.
