Built as a textile mill by Richard Gane in 1875 on the site of an earlier mill. The mill closed in 1902. During WW1 it was occupied by Australian Forces. It was later used by Avon Rubber to manufacture springs for road and rail vehicles, then later used as offices. It has now been redeveloped as retirement apartments.
