Built in 1878 for the County of Gloucester Bank. At one time it was the fourth largest note-issuing bank in England and Wales. An economic downturn in the 1890's led to the bank being taken over by Lloyds Bank in 1897. The building then became a branch of Lloyds Bank until 1995 when Lloyds merged with the TSB Group to form Lloyds TSB Bank. In 2013 they were required to divest themselves of 630 branches which formed a new TSB bank. Burford was one of those branches. The building itself is Grade II listed. Update: TSB closed this branch on the 10th May 2021. Image
