The A944 is an important route out of Aberdeen to the west via Alford and eventually (with a break) to Colnabaichin, where it meets the A939 (https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=A944 ). In the left background can be seen part of the former Stewart and Rowell's comb works, which was once said to be the world's largest: B-listed (LB44554: http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB44554 ); now offices and residential.
