The grave is not well tended but probably due to the Covid19 pandemic either is the cemetery. Sgt. Ian Clenshaw has the dubious honour of being the first pilot to die in the Battle of Britain. On 10th July he was on a dawn patrol in poor weather and lost control of his Hurricane, P3359, and was killed when the aircraft came down near the Humber coast. A plaque has been placed on the house in Shaftesbury Avenue, Southend where he was living before his death. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6533871
