Aka St Michael's Buildings. By W.T. Lockwood, c1910, for the Grosvenor Estate. "Very large, symmetrical, and very black-and-white". The "initial facade of 1910 was faced with faience and richly classical, but after protests [Lockwood] took it down and rebuilt it in its present form, which cost the 2nd Duke of Westminster £4,000". Faience can still be seen at the ground floor, but not in sufficient quantity to offend the purists. Grade II listed.
