We are just about to cross the access road to Freeman's Quarry, off the A38 to the south Image There are lots of limestone quarries in this area, some still working and some disused. This quarry does not appear at all on the 1998 paper 1:25000 OS map, which I was carrying that day. The up-to-date maps on my phone and GPS unit did show it.
