The central part of this view was a garden in the early 18C. This was let or sold piecemeal, and various small buildings have filled the space between China Street on the left, Church Street going across at the far end and Sun Street out of sight on the right. The narrow street is Back Sun Street. This view is from the roof of The Music Room.
