The local council have ensured the ruts will not get much deeper by banning motor traffic but they could last for many decades if something is not done. They might get some funds for repairs by collecting all the lost golf balls and selling them back to the golfists! In reality they are plastic pollution and the players could be fined for littering, there are dozens of them lying around on a public highway.
