The electric fence separating the churchyard from the footpath is not the deterrent it might appear to be. The churchyard grass is maintained in semi-wild state by grazing rare breed sheep on it (not present on this occasion). There is a second footpath through this area, suitably gated so it is possible to wander around the fenced area also.
