This stone building stands at the western end of the car park serving the Wheatsheaf Inn and abutting onto Murton Lane. The building appears to pre-date the main Inn building and conceivably formed part of Murton West House which occupied this site at the time of the publication, in 1865, of the first Ordnance Survey Six-Inch map of the area.
