Built late C17 as an almshouse for aged widows and formerly known as Wilbraham's Almshouses. my recollection is that at the time it was purely a restaurant rather than a pub. It still looks essentially the same, although you now get a better view as the building on the near street corner has since been demolished. Listed Grade II.
