The full length of the north side of Bank Street (on the right) was taken by the publisher John Leng, Dundee Advertiser. D C Thomson eventually bought out Leng and had a printing works opposite that is now a multistorey car park. The street is tarmac over the original wooden setts. The latter were to prevent damage if a typecase was dropped.
