Boats on Willington Gut

The stream which flows into the River Tyne here is Wallsend Burn. However, the lower, tidal, section is known as Willington Gut. The marina was established in the 1980's after the closure of the shipyards which used to used to be on the banks here. In the distance, over the river to the left, can be the spire of Christ Church in Jarrow.
