Apart from the medieval tower, this church was built in 1876-7, designed by Paley & Austin. Pevsner wrote that their work can be recognised “by their red tiled roofs and the subtly composed variety of the Dec (Decorated style) S windows”. The shaft of the Halton Cross has sneaked into the picture on the right.
