The Plaza is a development of new student accommodation by Unite. Phase 2 commenced in summer of 2007, and will rise to 37 storeys. At 103 metres above ground level it will be the second tallest building in Leeds, after Bridgewater Place, but will be outstripped by Lumiere when it is built. The Plaza will also be the tallest dedicated student building in the UK. Phase 1, of 15 storeys, was completed in September 2006. This is a view from the multi-storey car park in the Merrion Centre.
