Danger, condemned building, keep out signs are on this property at Westgrove in the town. However, plans are underway to convert the property into a retirement flats complex. The building, erected in 1878, was originally the Congregational Church until its closure in 1930. Since then it has been a cinema, an antiques business, a coal merchant's, Scottish Water offices and NHS Borders offices over the years.
