Sleaford South was a BR Eastern Region structure dating from 1957, a wonderfully tranquil location but busy with freight traffic on the GN & GE Joint line until closure beyond Spalding in 1982. The remains of the point rodding are visible in the foreground, the pointwork became electrically operated when the line was singled into Sleaford in August 1981. Alas the little box is no longer with us having closed (and been quickly demolished) in 2014.
