This shows another detail, about 50cm in width, of the exposure shown in image Image The Silurian Limestone here at Wren's Nest was quarried for several centuries for building stone, fertiliser and as a flux for ironstone. The site has been a Nature Reserve for Geology since 1956, the first in Britain. http://www.dudley.gov.uk/environment--planning/countryside/nature-reserves/wrens-nest-national-nature-reserve
