This is by the A449 Stourbridge Road near Beggars Bush Lane. All the independent petrol stations on the A449 approaching Wolverhampton from the south closed in the 1990s as the supermarkets drove them out of business, aided and abetted by fuel wholesalers who sold fuel to them at lower prices, thus making the independents uncompetitive and unable to make a living. This site is not part of the adjacent housing development, but I wonder how long its owners will be able to resist selling up rather than renting it out to a car wash business.
