Built by the Lincoln City Council in 1968/9 to a design by David Vale MBE. Described by John Wilford, FSA as ‘perhaps his most outstanding work, and a lasting memorial’ he goes on to tell us that, ‘he (Vale) was proud of the beautifully landscaped project, especially the chapel with its saucer dome and rusticated tower which was acknowledged in Pevsner’s’. In 2016 a four-month £160K refurbishment was completed that included additional car parking and new bi-folding doors to allow better access to the chapel.
