This area is now occupied by Poundworld and Boots the chemist where at one time stood the most prominent store in Worthing, the drapers, outfitters and fancy stationers Walter Bros. Their premises at 58 to 60 Montague Street was established here in c.1850, and prospered for many years until the store's eventual closure in 1971.
