Former station building at Ebchester

This was built in the 1860's as one of the stations on the Derwent Valley Line to Consett. Like several others on this line, it was a bit remote from the village, and this was one of the reasons for its decline. Passenger traffic ceased in 1954, and the line closed in 1963.
