The branch railway line from Leominster to Kington and New Radnor finally closed in 1964, having lost its passenger service in 1955. This is the former Kingsland station. The crossing cottage is in the foreground, the station building is beyond. The track was beyond the buildings. Coal was originally delivered to the distributor here by rail. The yard survives and thrives, although all deliveries are now by road.
