The S-shaped alignment of the viaduct can be clearly seen from the vantage point of the roof of the 'South Point' office block. The viaduct's deck comprises a reinforced concrete deck slab over a steel ladder-frame. The Cor-ten weathering steel will avoid the need for any future painting of the superstructure, reducing its whole-life cost and avoiding disruption to the highways underneath.
