This is the section of the town known as Fife Keith, founded in 1817 by the Earl of Fife in competition with the old town of Keith. It was not an economic success and was merged with the rest of Keith into a single Burgh in 1889. Regent Street is part of the A96, the main trunk road between Aberdeen and Inverness.
