The large works is Wieland Metals and is a production site for rolled products using state of the art casting and rolling equipment. It specialises in the supply of high performance niche alloys and small batches. Wieland is a global company founded in Ulm, Germany in 1920 and specialises particularly in copper. It is nice to know that there is still metal-bashing in the UK, even if the owners are global.
