The church of St Deiniol was rebuilt in 1859 after a serious fire, and this seemingly Gothic Revival tableau, set into the external east end of the church, probably dates from that time. The image represents Christ appearing to the eleven Apostles after the Resurrection. The quotation from Saint Mark chapter 16 verse 15 is: "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature"
