This newly reconstructed bridge crosses the river at the lowest point on the mountain road from Ammanford to Pontardawe. Just above the bridge Nant Melyn joins the Lower Clydach River. The road turns sharply left at the end of the bridge to skirt the steep slope of Banc John.
