Many things must have been dated 1953 in honour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, but a village swing is an unusual example. It's not the only Coronation legacy locally, see the WI bench Image, and maybe reflects the royal associations hinted at by the name of the companion village King's Meaburn. It is least evidence that generations of children have enjoyed this facility over the last 66 years of the Queen's reign.
