The Church of St John the Divine is in Church Street at Lamberhead Green, Pemberton. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Wigan, the archdeaconry of Warrington, and the diocese of Liverpool. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building (Historic England List Entry Number: 1384458 ). The church was built between 1830 and 1832 in the Gothic Revival style. It is an example of a Commissioners' church https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commissioners%27_church , having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission.
