Batcombe village hall

The village of Batcombe had an earlier hall on this site. It was a smaller wooden hut, built in 1934 at a cost of £375 and was produced at a time of inter-war shortages. That hall served well enough, especially as it was requisitioned in WWII, but in later years it began to fall apart. So a new hall was needed and work began in 2001; the following year this new and much bigger hall was opened by H.R.H. Prince Charles.
