This rather unusual terrace dates from the early 1900s and was originally built for housing the gas works' workers. The terrace is built of clinker > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6201333 used originally to line the gas kilns. A second such terrace > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6201329 is situated just above this one > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6201327 and equally difficult to photograph. The gas works were situated a short distance further from here at the bottom of Gas Hill.
