When there are nine cygnets to feed it is worth waiting outside Morrisons on Thamesmead. They were not for going back to their lake 100 yards away, despite a member of staff trying to encourage them. Previously an assistant used to lay a trail of bread back to the lake. It seems that they are not allowed now to feed them. The crafty things used to turn up regularly twice a day, knowing they would be fed to get them back to the lake. That was before they had the cygnets. Now they have a family to feed I assume they just need to do their shopping. See also https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5181273
