A single track branch line ran from Upwey to Abbotsbury and was the site of the original Upwey Station. The station building is just visible in the middle of this picture surrounded by builders yard stuff. It operated from 1885 to 1952 for passengers and served another 10 years as a freight depot before finally shutting in 1962. The Upwey name was transferred to the present station on the Weymouth line which had been called Upwey Junction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upwey_railway_station_(Abbotsbury_Railway)
